Coated Abrasive Grains for Heavy Duty Grinding
Highly engineered seeded gel abrasives outperform commodity-like abrasive grains in heavy-duty industrial applications because a single layer of abrasive grains typically cannot be expected to stand up to extreme temperatures for extended periods of time without becoming dull or breaking off at the bonding point. With their uniform, sub-micro crystal microstructures, seeded gel abrasives are able to provide sharp cutting surfaces on a microscopic scale, which enable faster, cooler cutting action, and extended grain life. Alumina zirconia grains also are well suited for heavy-duty stock removal applications due to their extreme ruggedness.
Engineered to Perform
In 1984, Saint-Gobain Abrasive Materials introduced its patented, groundbreaking seeded gel abrasives, which feature a unique nano-structure composed of extremely uniform, sub-micron crystals designed to minimally fracture when stressed. The combination of the grains’ sharpness and microstructure allows for an aggressive cutting and long-lasting ceramic grain ideal for finishing a variety of materials and applications.
Aggressive Cool Cutting
The ideal abrasive has the ability to fracture before serious dulling occurs and offers maximum resistance to point wear. Because of their unique nano-structure, Cerpass XTL® and Cerpass DGE® seeded gel abrasives enable aggressive cutting and long-lasting ceramic grains ideal for high or low-pressure, tough-to-grind applications. Saint-Gobain Abrasive Materials produces a stable, secure supply of grains at manufacturing sites in the United States, France, and China.
Saint-Gobain Abrasive Materials cultivates strong, long-lasting relationships with its customers through close collaboration, working side-by-side to develop innovative solutions for their unique challenges.
